The beginning

Casa Capaz was formed in 2006 as a family-run business. In 2009 Casa Capaz was taken over by Ruth Blackwood. Having spent many years in the care industry, Ruth realised that there was a need for alternative holiday opportunities for people with learning disabilities enabling them to enjoy a holiday with professional 24-hour care support.

Ruth Blackwood

Originally from Edinburgh, Ruth has around 20 years qualified experience in Health and Social Care including working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Ruth has a really friendly, outgoing personality. She genuinely loves her work and is totally committed to ensuring that Casa Capaz clients enjoy a fun-packed holiday in the sun by enabling them to do what they want to do at the time and pace which suits them best.
